To further support compliance with the International Export Administration Regulations (\u201cEAR\u201d) (15 CFR. \u00a7 730 et seq.) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (\u201cITAR\u201d) (22 CFR \u00a7 120-130), Fictiv is implementing changes to its user experience in order to better support its wide range of customer verticals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please keep in mind that per Fictiv\u2019s Terms of Service, no technology or technical data that is listed or otherwise controlled on the CCL or USML, except for parts designated ECCN EAR99 or 9E991, is permitted to be uploaded to our platform. By uploading technology or technical data to the Fictiv platform, you represent and warrant that the uploaded data is not listed or otherwise controlled on the CCL or USML \u2013 and that your data does not require a license to export to non-US persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What export control classifications does Fictiv support?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Fictiv supports the following EAR Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uploading parts into a new quote<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Upon uploading files, you may be asked to answer a question regarding the export control classification of the parts you have selected. Due to the sensitive nature of export controls, Fictiv is asking this question to protect both parties from accidental violation of the regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
In the event that you have selected \u201cOther ECCN\u201d or \u201cITAR\u201d, your parts will be flagged as export controlled, your quote will be deleted, and all data relating to the parts in the quote will be removed from Fictiv databases and servers. At that point, you will be returned to the file upload screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Detecting export-control language in a drawing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the questionnaire during part upload, Fictiv utilizes technology to detect information in technical drawings. In the event that text in the drawing indicates that the data provided may be subject to export control, then the required questionnaire will appear as well. The text that has been identified in each drawing will also be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note: Our detection algorithm is intended to limit inadvertent disclosures to non-US persons. If you believe you have encountered a false positive in use, please reach out directly to your account representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
In the event that \u201cITAR\u201d is detected in a drawing, then the quote and files will be automatically deleted and all data relating to the parts in the quote will be removed from Fictiv databases and servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
What happens if I accidentally upload export controlled data?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In the event that you upload data that is export controlled by accident and it is not caught by the systems in place, please delete your quote and inform your sales representative or customer support as quickly as possible. This will allow Fictiv to confirm that all data pertaining to your quote is deleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Re-classifying parts upon a reorder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
